In our efforts to help put an end to this ever increasing problem of hunger, the Spectrum Foundation hosts a lively bowling event to Strike Out Hunger. This year, we will be gathering on March 28, 2015 in partnership with the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank at Langley Lanes on Langley Air Force Base. Last year, we had over 90 people who turned out to support the event, raising over $500 and collecting 317 pounds of food! We hope to improve upon these results at this year's event.
While this may not seem like much, the Virginia Peninsula Food Bank estimates that the $500 we collected will provide approximately 4,000 meals – and that is not even counting the additional food collected! The partnership between the Spectrum Foundation and the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank has made a definable impact on our community’s hunger problem. Let’s keep focusing toward Striking Out Hunger now and in the future!
