Spectrum sponsored participating wounded warriors for the third annual Run for the Dream race weekend occurring May 31 to June 2. Spectrum’s contributions enabled all wounded warriors to participate for free in the races which included an 8K and half marathon in Williamsburg, VA. Twenty handcyclists participated in each race and an additional 60 wounded warriors participated as runners or walkers. Spectrum’s contributions also provided a dinner for the handcyclists and a VIP Reception at the Williamsburg Lodge in honor of Wounded Warriors. Funds further allowed the first 50 wounded warriors who signed up to receive a free hotel room and extra Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg tickets.
Spectrum has been a key sponsor of Run for the Dream which benefits An Achievable Dream and is in support of Wounded Warriors since the event’s inception in 2011. Spectrum President & CEO Jeff Wassmer states, “Spectrum has been a supporter of An Achievable Dream Academy for years. One cannot hear the organization’s mission and deny those it serves. Knowing we get to support the extraordinary students at the Academy while further championing Spectrum’s passion to serve wounded warriors and the United States military is something we look forward to each year.”
